2012 Gewürztraminer – Thai “Sloppy Joes”

2012 Gewürztraminer  The 2012 Gewürztraminer is a dry style Gewürztraminer with aromas of guava, Meyer lemon and a hint of clove. The flavor is fresh and bright, with notes of spicy pineapple and a zesty finish.

Thai “Sloppy Joes”

serves 4

1 pound ground chicken or turkey
½ c peanut butter (with no added sugar)
¼ c soy sauce
3 T fish sauce
¼ c rice wine vinegar
2 T sriracha (hot sauce)
2 T chopped garlic
2 T chopped ginger
¼ c chopped onion

Heat a pan over medium high heat. Add the ground meat, and let cook until almost completely cooked through. While it is cooking, break up with a spatula to small pieces.

Measure the rest of the ingredients into a bowl. Once the meat is completely cooked, lower the heat and add all the ingredients. Stir together thoroughly and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes to let sauce come together and thicken to coat the meat.

Serve on buns, pita, or individual cabbage leaves. Garnish with chopped sweet peppers, and chopped cilantro.
